MODEL OF THE WEEK

                                                                                                                                        FASHION FREAK

Keeping It Cool With Edie Campbell

  Age: 23
Reputation: Cool, calm, and collected
Fashion Fact: Campbell almost did a runner before taking to the Chanel Couture catwalk in Spring 2012 because she was so nervous!

She is one of London’s coolest style icons, carries the boy-meets-girl look with utmost fashion, and even her name rings with an air of chic, as Edie Campbell of Westbourne Grove (where Notting Hill was filmed) has steadily climbed the fashion ladder to become one of the most sought after models around                                                                                                                             Model on a Mission

Her modelling career kicked into gear in 2009, when she featured in the Marc by Marc Jacobs Fall 2009 campaign shot by Juergen Teller and bringing her to the fashion world’s attention.  She has since gone on to appear in campaigns for Burberry, Chanel, Just Cavalli, Anya Hindmarch, Diesel, Cacharel, and most recently was captured as the face of Saint Laurent for Spring 2013.

Naturally, the glossies caught on to the Edie-mania and have featured her boho-chic self in vibrant editorials for the likes of British and American Vogue, i-D Magazine, V Magazine, W, and our personal fave: LOVE magazine, for which Campbell is now on the cover this February 2013 issue. She follows in the footsteps of fellow Brits, Kate Moss, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, and Cara Delevingne.

But when Campbell is not on set for her latest photo shoot, she is as much in demand walking the top fashion week catwalks. Grande runway moments include modeling at the Chanel Haute Couture Spring 2013 and Spring 2012 shows where Campbell carried the ultimate accolade; wearing the final wedding dress design. She has also graced the catwalk for Saint Laurent, Louis Vuitton, Burberry, and many more.

What Edie Wears

Campbell’s own personal style rings to the musical tune of ’70s cool; her signature blunt fringe and long tousled hair often adorned with a large fedora hat, wearing oversized shirts, and skinny jeans -- giving her quintessentially British style an Edie twist.

But as they say, it’s not just nature but nurture that dictates style. Campbell is an equestrian lover. In July 2011 she took part in Glorious Goodwood and became the first winner of the inaugural all ladies horse race. Her status as an established horse-rider has has clear influence on her personal style: choosing blazers, trousers, and flats over heels and skirts.

Edie At Home

When Campbell is not modelling, or horse riding, she is busy studying her first degree in History of Art, reading, and hanging out with hip-pals Pixie Geldof, Alexa Chung, and Delevingne.
